The Century Refrigeration XBOC Series unit cooler, XBOC418A-968, is designed to meet the rigors of the industrial refrigeration market. The XBOC Series is designed for ceiling or stacked floor mounting applications. (Please contact the factory for the stacked floor mounting option.)
 

The XBOC Series units can be equipped with CENTURY.CONNECT, our comprehensive remote monitoring package, allowing you to access your operational controls from anywhere in the world—simply find a signal on your handheld or laptop device.

 

General Applications:

  • Industrial warehouse coolers and freezers
  • Large warehouse storage and distribution facilities

Cabinet Construction:

  • Corrosion resistant G-90 mill galvanized sheet metal
  • Hinged, insulated drain pans also feature G-90 mill galvanized sheet metal with a factory-supplied drain connection
  • Corrosion-resistant hardware
  • Fully die-formed venturis to minimize noise and maximize airflow
  • Hinged end panels for easy access

Coil Construction:

  • Copper tubing
  • Full-collared die-formed aluminum plate fins and tube sheets (available in other materials upon request)
  • Tubes mechanically expanded into the fin pack for maximum heat transfer
  • Solder type distributors with removeable nozzles sized for the specified refrigerant and temperature range
  • Coils tested underwater at 350 PSIG
  • All coils require an external equalized expansion valve
  • XBOC Series unit cooler coils are engineered to utilize multiple refrigerants (Refrigerant type must be specified when ordering)

Fan Motors:

  • Industrial duty, high-efficiency, three-phase voltage, full ball bearing design
  • VFD rated
  • Permanently lubricated for reduced maintenance
  • Suitable for low-temperature applications
  • Pre-wired to terminal blocks in the unit’s end panel
  • Fan motor power options include 2 HP, 3 HP, and 5 HP ODP motors depending on the model

Fan Blades:

  • Heavy-duty airfoil cast aluminum fan blades with steel hubs
  • Statically and dynamically balanced for smooth operation
  • Selected for maximum airflow
  • Suitable for external static pressure applications (model dependent)

Defrost Designs:

  • Air Defrost: Suited for applications of +35°F room temperature and higher.
    • Available with 4 or 5 fins per inch arrangements
  • Electric Defrost: Suited for room temperature applications below +35°F. Operational design down to -40°F saturated suction temperature.
    • Available with 4, or 5 fins per inch arrangements
    • Low-watt density heaters internally housed in the coil for rapid and efficient defrost
    • Heaters are pre-wired terminal blocks in the unit’s end panel
    • Lower coil and drain pan heaters help provide fast and reliable condensate drainage
    • Standard heated and insulated drain pan
    • Adjustable defrost termination/fan delay switch
  • Hot Gas Defrost: Suited for room temperature applications below +35°F. Operational design down to -40°F saturated suction temperature.
    • Available with 4 or 5 fins per inch arrangements
    • Auxiliary side port connection on the distributor for hot gas connection
    • One ship-loose check valve for TXV bypass
    • Hot gas loop in the drain pan aids in fast and reliable condensate drainage
    • Standard heated and insulated drain pan
    • Adjustable defrost termination/fan delay switch

Air Throw:

  • 150 feet to 200 feet at 20-foot ceiling height with 0.0″ ESP (model and application dependent)
  • Extended air throw distances available with optional nozzles
